Re-ordering Update, 29 Aug 2017

In June the Heritage Lottery Fund turned down the funding application for our comprehensive re-ordering plans for the church building and creation of heritage activities.

Rector Peter Bold and Sue Sanford met the Heritage Lottery Fund team on 17th August for feedback on the bid and their decision and advice t about how we could go forward.  While the decision was disappointing we got some very constructive feedback.  We have been encouraged to make a smaller funding application to HLF quite quickly for the urgent work needed to the windows and some related heritage activities   and work is starting on this idea immediately. We have also been encouraged to look again at the major elements of the re-ordering and consider if they can be progressed as separate projects, possibly within different funding arrangements over the next few years (it would have taken five years to complete the original re-ordering plans if we had been successful with the funding.)

The re-ordering group are meeting in the next few weeks with our architect to look at the existing plans and also some previous ideas to see how we can go forward and we will be sharing ideas and information on the displays at the back of church, on the church website and in open meetings in church and elsewhere in the town

If you are  interested in finding out more about the plans and/or would like to be involved in the Re-ordering Group please contact Sue by phone on 01246 417320 or by email at
