No Services in Church but open for Private Prayer

Sadly, services in church are suspended for 4 weeks due to the national lock down. But the church will still be open for private prayer Sundays and Wednesdays 9.30am to 4pm. We will have our online service as normal, with our New Team vicar, Ian Webb preaching.

Remembrance Sunday 8th November

Peter will be leading a Remembrance Sunday Service at the War Memorial at 10.50. Sadly we can’t have the usual large gathering or parade. We will attempt to live stream the service on the Churches Together facebook Page:

We invite you to “virtual” after (or before??) service refreshments, by clicking on the link below at 11.30 am or afterwards. Please bring you own coffee or …?

Collect for Remembrance Sunday

God, our refuge and strength,
bring near the day when wars shall cease
and poverty and pain shall end,
that earth may know the peace of heaven
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Funeral – for your Prayers: Pat Telford.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who has responded to our request for help with our finances. They are looking better, but our income is still significantly down from normal. Thank you.

GOOD NEWS – Approval for accessible Toilet and Re-ordering at the Rear of Church!

We are delighted to say that the Diocese and English Heritage have recommended for approval our plans for an accessible toilet, kitchen facilities, storage and refurbishment of the choir vestry and current toilet extension. The next stage is publishing details on the noticeboard by the Lychgate in case any member of the public wished to object, and local authority planning permission because the refurbishment of the extension will change the appearance of the link corridor. While we are doing that we will go out to tender to know how much it will cost, and then we can start applying for grants and fundraising.

Live Streaming Services from Church

As we will not be able to have large numbers coming to our Advent and Christmas Services we are planning to “live stream” them. This will involve investment in good quality cameras etc., and hopefully getting a telephone line into church. Rob Aldread is organising this. Thank you for those who have already made substantial donations towards the costs. We are hoping grants will also help. If you would like to know more please ask Peter or Ro
