Annual General Meeting and Accounts

You may know that we were due to have our AGM this Sunday, and we can't because of the corona virus. We have been instructed to postpone the AGM for up to 6 months. However I want to let you all see our accounts now rather than waiting for months, so they will be attached with these notices. I hope they make sense.

5 items to note:

  • On the third page, under Church running expenses it has an entry for cleaning - this is actually cleaning for the hall, but the software doesn't allow us to put it in the right pace. Thank you to our wonderful cleaners who save us a lot of money and keep the church looking wonderful.
  • Also on page 3, where it says organist, this includes Rob, Mark Rothman and contributions to Young Voices. Assistant staff costs includes I think organist, bells and verger fees for weddings and funerals.
  • The increase in administration is mainly due to an increase in photocopying costs, partly due to use for Young Voices, Our Ladies Voices.
  • And the increase in Missionary and Charitable giving includes Christmas Tree Festival money that went through our accounts.
  • On page 4, the "members TA" account is the re-ordering account. We have now opened a new bank account for this with the Co-op and it will now be more helpfully named.

Thank you to everyone who gives so much, whether financially or in so many other ways.

Please note and give thanks that overall we had a surplus of over £50,000 - however that was only because of one very generous donation and the large legacy we received from Cynthia Bladon. Without them we would have had a deficit of about £8,000. In addition we have just had our boilers fitted, we have a gas bill to pay of about £3,700, and we want to keep our reserves and legacies if possible for the repair of our windows and the re-ordering.

Please can you Email Gill Harvey or me with any questions.

I will aim to share more AGM reports and thoughts over the next few weeks, for your information and prayer.

And connected with our accounts, and giving to the Church

Katherine Shaw says:

I have the regular giving envelopes here, I was going to label them and leave them in church but obviously events overtook that. If anyone wants me to I can get them to them as long as they live within walking/running distance of me. I can post them through letterboxes so no need for contact. If they can let Peter or me know with name and address I can do that. Although it may take a couple of weeks.

It is possible to give through the following 3 ways:

  • You could set up a standing order, or make one off payments by BACS to our new church bank account:
Co-Op Bank. Account Name: Dronfield Parish Church. sort code 089299 account 6588970350.
The old “covenant account” with RBS is still working, but this is a new account to work more easily with our new Co-Op current account.
  • You can give via the churches “Just Giving Page”:
    https://www.dronfieldparishchurch.org.uk/just-giving/
(though we do lose about 5% of donations this way in charges)
  • Or you could give by sending Peter Bold or Rob Aldread an Email, telling them how much you wanted to give, and they could send you a link from our “Sum-Up” account. This is the software that enables us to take donations in church with credit cards. We lose about 1% this way in charges.

If you want to know more please ask Peter.

Alternatively, we would be delighted if you would just save up donations and give them when life returns to normal.

Thank you.

New Daylight bible study notes

I have copies of the notes for May to August. Please let me know if you would like a copy and I can post them to you, probably as part of my daily exercise.

Team Vicar vacancy

And I am delighted to say that the Diocese have now put the advert for a new team vicar on their website. Dates for interviews etc are of course subject to the corona virus restrictions:
