Opening the Church for Private Prayer and for Funerals

You may have seen on the news that the government has now said that churches can open for private prayer and for funerals, but they only published their final guidelines yesterday. I have been working on the provisional guidelines from earlier in the week. There are many details we need to organise, which include getting disposable gloves and aprons for cleaning the church each day. These are on order but will not arrive until around 23 June. We hope to be able to open on the 24 June, the Feast of the Birth of St John the Baptist. If any body who is not in a vulnerable category, or living with someone in a vulnerable category, would like to help with the cleaning etc., please contact Peter.

Team Vicar for St Swithin’s and St Philip’s

To update you, we had 4 applications to be our new team vicar, and we have shortlisted that down to 2. We can’t do our normal interviews, but instead the 2 candidates will meet the St Swithin’s and St Philip’s leadership teams, and the clergy team online, and then be interviewed online on Monday 22 June. The preferred candidate will then be invited to see the buildings and hopefully meet more people, when that is allowed, before final decisions are made.

New Email Address

I have new Email address following problems with the old one: revdbold@gmail.com. I will keep checking the old one for the next few months.
