Cuppa and chat with the Bishop The Bishop of Derby, Rt. Rev. Libby Lane, is coming to visit our area soon to get a feel for how we’re coping with things at this stage in the pandemic and to discuss the vision and future direction of the diocese. Bishop Libby would like to speak with a small group of people (no more than 12) from our churches north of Chesterfield, on Monday, 1st November at 10.30am for an hour or so at St. Swithin’s, Holmesfield. Refreshments will be provided. This conversation time is really for the “people in the pews” rather than ministers or synod members (but PCC members and wardens would be welcome). If you would like to be part of this please get in touch with Ian no later than Tuesday, 19th October. Rev. Ian Webb, Vicar of St. Swithin’s & St. Philip’s in the Dronfield with Holmesfield Team, E:

Christian Aid Book sale The Dronfield Christian Aid Committee is happy to let you know that the annual book sale is back again on the morning of Saturday 23 October, 10.00 – 12.00am, in the Civic Hall.

They are asking for books (preferably paperbacks) to sell; also CD’s and jigsaws and these should be either left at the church office (during office hours) or the Civic Hall foyer (before 4.00pm from Wednesday the 13th through until Friday the 22nd, Saturday and Sunday excepted). We’re also running the cake stall, donations of cakes etc for sale on it would be very much appreciated as well as any raffle prizes folk might feel able to donate.

Christian Aid Vaccine Appeal Many thanks on behalf of Christian Aid to all of you who made donations at the Harvest Festival service.
The amount given was £172.00 of which £107.00 was Gift Aided raising the effective total to nearer £200.00.

Revd Dave Walker’s licensing is to be held at St Peter & St. Paul Eckington on Sunday 17th October 6:00pm. He would love to see lots of people there, everyone is welcome.

Praise Choir Rob our Director of Music is starting a CTDD Praise Choir who will sing some hymns, gospel pieces and worship songs with a focus on the “heart” of singing to support good and uplifting “worship”.

If you are interested drop Rob an email, text  or WhatsApp.

As soon as he has built up a list of who would like to be involved he will be back in touch to arrange a couple of rehearsals prior to Sunday 21st November. They will likely be on Thursday evenings.

Rob hopes to hear back form lots of people soon!

The Life Project will be holding a number of presentations across Dronfield and District. Life Dronfield is all about the community in Dronfield and District and they are keen to share this with as many people as possible.
