Services for Sunday 20th March 2022 ST JOHN’S AGM SUNDAY 3rd APRIL 2022 (after morning service) NOMINATION OF Churchwardens, DCC Members, PCC, CTDD & Deanery Synod Representatives Please complete a form for nomination to any of the above positions and return to the church office as soon as possible. Due to our interregnum and covid we are looking for volunteers to fill these important roles. Reading Luke 13:1-9 Collect Prayer for the Dronfield with Holmesfield team. CTDD joint evening service at 6.30pm this coming Sunday 20th March. It is at St Mary’s Unstone. We will again be focussing our prayers for the people of Ukraine. Please remember in your prayers: Sally MacLaurin, Bernard Broadhead, Pat Walker, Edith Hobson, Joan Jones, Malcolm Styan, Faye Jowle, Emily and Rodger, father of Revd Paul Mellars, Paul and his family. Sadly Doreen Roebuck (a member of our church choir for many years) died overnight 10th/11th March, she will be sadly missed, please remember her family and friends in your prayers. Funeral details to follow. Church Group Reports for AGM 3rd April If you are a leader of any church group, can you please send a very short Report as soon as possible. Please send only a couple of sentences, précis who you are and what you have done since June 2021. Due to interregnum we have a very short time to pull together before AGM.

Please bring you own coffee or …? Church open for private prayer The church will be open for private prayer every day 9.30am - 4.00pm. Volunteers for the unlocking and locking rota are needed URGENTLY. Please contact the Parish Office if this is something you could help with 412328. Parish Office opening hours The office is open to visitors Wednesday to Friday 9.30am –12.00noon. Easter Lilies If anyone would like an Easter Lily in memory of a loved one, please let Jean Hobson have the name and £3 towards the cost of the Lilies and Jean will enter the person’s name into the Easter Memory Book. Christian Aid Lent Appeal There are now the usual loose-change boxes at the back of church; please do take one and although Christian Aid are not asking us to give towards a specific project this year, there remains so much need around the world for us to help remedy with our giving and our prayers, of course. The Christian Aid Committee are also manning a book stall at the town market on the morning of Thursday 24 March; if you have any books for us to sell, please let me know or drop them off at the parish office. Organ Recital. The next ‘Wednesday at Eight Organ Recital’ will be on April 6th and Nigel Gotteri will be playing. Admission is free and refreshments are provided. There will be a retiring collection for church funds.
Intercessions are once again to be taken by church members from April. If anyone would like to offer their time to do intercessions please speak to Chris Williams for more details. Thank you. Chattabox and Little Fishes are having a Saturday Service on 2nd April at 4.00pm at St Mary’s Unstone. We will be performing a Palm Sunday play, having a few songs, prayers and craft activities. Refreshments will be served afterwards and everyone is welcome. Please join us for this fun service. |
