Prayer for the Dronfield with Holmesfield team.

Dear Mighty God,
We pray at this time for those who make decisions about a new Rector, to find the right person.
We hope that this person will be understanding, kind, enthusiastic,
and inspiring for the local community, our team of five churches and our school. Amen

Urgent help is needed! If our beautiful Church is to remain open during the day we desperately need volunteers to unlock at 9.30am and then lock up at the end of the day around 4.30pm. If you can volunteer for just one day a week morning or evening it would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately if no one volunteers our church like many others will not be left unlocked during the day, which will be a great shame as we get many visitors. Please call Alison at the Parish Office if you are able to volunteer 01246 412328.

Upcoming Organ Recital ‘Wednesdays at Eight’. On July 6th St John’s will be hosting its monthly organ recital with a special guest organist Dr Michal Szostak. He performs across the world, including Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Africa, USA, Germany, Italy, Ukraine and many other countries. He is a Doctor of Music Arts, in the field of instrumental studies, discipline of organ performance, obtained at Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Warsaw. This is a not to be missed event! Concert starts at 8.00pm and there will be refreshments after the performance. This concert is free with a retiring collection.

Feast of Flowers at St John’s.  Plans are underway to make the Feast of Flowers 2022 a truly memorable event. Over the event weekend there are two concerts, ‘Young Voices and Ladies Voices’ and ‘Faith at the Musicals’ don’t forget to get your tickets for these concerts as soon as possible. There will also be organ music played during the daytime at certain times. Children’s activities will be available throughout the event.

Chattabox is meeting Wednesday Evenings 6.00 till 7.00pm in Church from 15th June. This group runs term time only and anyone aged between 3 to 16 is welcome to come and join in the fun. Call Alison for more information. This week we had a treasure hunt and talked about following Jesus, James led everyone around church blindfolded (the volunteers, not James) showing what it is like to have blind faith in someone and then we tried our hand at macramé and made a key ring with a compass attached.
Little Fishes, A fun friendly group of Mums, Dads, grandparents, carers and their pre school children and babies, is meeting in Church on the first and third Friday in the month, at 1.45 till 2.45pm. Call Alison for more information or just turn up and join in the fun. Our last meeting was 17th June and we had lots of fun talking about being a family, and how everyone is different and God loves each and everyone of us. We finished the session by making a fathers day card, we left one on the notice board at the back of church for you to see.
