Notices for Sunday June 13th 2021
Second Sunday after Trinity

Services live and online
Holy Communion at 10am on Sunday – Service led by Revd Peter Bold
The social distancing rules will apply. We will continue with streaming the morning service online. You can watch the videos for all the churches when they “premiere”, or later for your convenience by clicking on this link: https://www.youtube.com/c/DwHParish
Prayers on-line are available each day.

Readings and Collect
2 Corinthians 5: 6-10 & Mark 4: 26 -34

Faithful Creator, whose mercy never fails;
deepen our faithfulness to you and to your living Word,
Jesus Christ our Lord.

Please remember in your prayers: Marion Giles, Muriel Lascelles, Bernard Broadhead, Pat Walker, Joan Jones, and the family of Brenda Edwards.

The funeral of Brenda Edwards will be held at Brimington Crematorium, followed by a memorial service in St Johns at 12.15. Brenda’s daughter Julie would have liked to issue an open invitation to the church service, but sadly seating is still restricted. So it is hoped that those wishing to pay their respects will be happy to do so by lining the street.

Annual General Meeting
Our AGM will take place after the morning service today 13 June, the first opportunity for our congregation to meet and reflect on our church life since March 2019! Please do a special effort to attend. Reports, accounts, minutes and agenda have been / will be emailed out and some hard copies are available in church.

Urgent need: We also need a new DCC secretary, to take minutes and 10 meetings a year. Any volunteers please see Peter

No Zoom Coffee today because of the AGM

Restrictions easing?
With anticipated easing of restrictions on 21st June, we are provisionally planning to re-start our 8am, 6.30pm and Wednesday services from Sunday 4th July onwards. This will give us time to plan when we know what the changes are.

Church open for private prayer
The church will be open for private prayer Wednesdays 9.30am - 4pm, Sundays 11.30-4pm

Live Streaming - Rob Aldread has organised and run the live streaming since November, with wonderful help from Josh. Rob cannot keep doing all this with his choir commitments. Can you help? Rob assures us it is not too difficult. If no help is available we won’t be able to live stream every week

Daily Prayer online
These daily prayer and Bible readings have been loved, and we are considering what to do long term as restrictions ease. We are taking a break for 2 weeks from Monday 21st June. As an alternative we recommend a number of online aids to prayer and Bible reading:

Thoughts / feedback would be welcome.

New Administrator
After many years of dedicated service, Sue Harvey is retiring from her role in the parish office. We are deeply grateful for all she has done. We need someone to replace her, working with Joan:

Part Time Administrator for Dronfield with Holmesfield Team of Churches.
13.5 hrs Per Week. (Temporary Contract, Role & Hours to be fully reviewed after 6 months). £9.13 per hour

  • Carry out and facilitate day-to-day administrative operations of the churches in close co-operation with the Clergy and the Officers of the churches, working in partnership with our other administrator.

  • To be a key face and voice of the church to the wider community within the Dronfield with Holmesfield Team, from answering the phone and office door to booking Baptisms, Weddings and other occasional services and managing lettings of the Church Hall

  • Have the ability to work in a changing environment, where multi-tasking, sound decision making, self-motivation and discretion are essential. Equally the post-holder will need confidence and proven IT, organisational, financial, communication and interpersonal skills.

Closing Date: 28th June 2021. For more information please ask Peter: revdbold@gmail.com or Ian Webb: ian.webb@dwhparish.org.uk

News: As we can’t meet together as we used to do, do you have any news to share? Please send items to the office by 9am on Thursdays.

From Peter:
In our garden – the yellow flowered verbascum just appeared, an unexpected delight.
