Being treble jabbed does reduce the risks considerably, but not completely, we are leaving it to individuals to make their own choices, and we are delighted that we can provide the online option for most of the services. The Parish Office opening hours The office is open to visitors Wednesday and Thursday 9.30am to 12.00pm and Friday 4th 9.30 to 11.00am. Church Flowers The flower fund is very low, we would be grateful for any donations towards the beautiful flower arrangements Jean creates. If you would like to make a donation, please speak to Jean Hobson. Christian Aid Update I'm please to let you know that the Dronfield Churches' Christian Aid Committee have been able to forward ٟ£1,500.00 raised from recent fund raising activities. This has gone to Christian Aid's central office to help alleviate the needs of many around our world. Derek Parish Co-ordinator role You will probably be aware that after many years' faithful service in the Parish Office Sue Harvey and Joan Dovenor retired last year. Since Sue's retirement in the summer we have been working on a review of the role, and Alison Bowen was employed on a temporary basis whilst this review took place. Alison has been doing an excellent job and is now keeping the office going Weds-Fri, undertaking all the admin previously done by Sue and Joan (with some help from me with weddings and baptisms). Our review looked at what we needed for the 2020s and beyond, recalling that the main purpose of the job is to 'release the clergy for the work to which they have been called and appointed by taking day-to-day organisational work off them to free them for their priorities of leadership, prayer, teaching and outreach.' After discussions with the parish wardens, clergy and the PCC, we have decided to create the new role of Parish Co-ordinator. The main differences are that the person appointed will become a key part of the staff (clergy) team and will be more involved in the leadership of the parish. They will be expected to develop admin systems as well as undertake day-to-day administration. They will also help our Parish Safeguarding Officers by taking on the DBS administration.
