Eternal God,
as Mary waited for the birth of your Son,
so we wait for his coming in glory;
bring us through the birth pangs of this present age
to see, with her, our great salvation
in Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN

Please remember in your prayers: Sally MacLaurin, Bernard Broadhead,
Pat Walker, Edith Hobson, Joan Jones, Malcolm Styan, Margaret Bennett and Emily (Ian Price’s granddaughter)

We also remember the family and friends of Antony Radford, Annette Whitham and Eric Wells.

Marion Giles passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday 15th December. Details of her funeral will follow in due course. Please remember her family in your prayers

Concerning Covid precautions
Following our understanding of government regulations, advice and common sense, we are planning to have all the above services, but please remember to wear a face mask unless you are exempt, sanitise your hands and if possible, please take lateral flow tests before coming to church, especially if you mix with significant groups during the week. Being treble jabbed does reduce the risks considerably, but not completely, so we are leaving it to individuals to make their own choices, and we are delighted that we can provide the online option for most of the services.

Bishop Libby and Bishop Malcolm are inviting all those engaged with and/or concerned for youth and children’s ministry across the diocese together on zoom to pray for our children and young people as they face these challenging times, as well as for our churches and schools as places of worship, welcome, and belonging. We will host this zoom prayer gathering on Tuesday 11th January, 7.30pm, and we will send the zoom link to any who get in touch before that date via Bishop Malcolm’s office,

Coffee Rota We are hoping to start serving coffee after Sunday Services in January. One or two people have kindly volunteered to help but ideally we need a few more people.  Sue would like to prepare a rota for January and would be grateful for any offers of help. Please contact Sue.

Pastoral support and funerals
Dear all, As you will know our Team Rector Rev. Peter Bold will be heading to pastures new after his last services with us on 16th January - a joint parish Communion service at St. John’s at 10.00am and the CTDD service at St. Andrew’s at 6.30pm. Some of you will be concerned about how things are going to pan out when Peter leaves but we would like to reassure you that we (with the great support of ministry team colleagues) are working hard and having lots of conversations aimed at helping things run smoothly. It will not be ‘all plain sailing’ but the God who stilled the storm is with us all in this time of change.
One small but important thing we can tell you is that Rev. Paul Mellars will be changing his day off to Mondays from 17th January so that pastoral support and funerals can be covered.
We will try to let you know about other developments as and when details have been finalised. Meanwhile please do get in touch with either of us if you have any concerns.
Every blessing
Rev. Paul Mellars and Rev. Ian Webb
