All five churches are making a collection for Joel and any donations can be given to our Church Wardens, Clergy or left at the Parish Office.
Notice Sheet. From the first Sunday in September Alison Bowen will no longer be producing the St. John’s notices, so we need a volunteer from church to take it on. As part of the review of administration across the parish and the creation of the Parish Co-ordinator role, it was decided that certain tasks undertaken by the Parish Office for St. John’s should be gradually handed over to church volunteers. The nature of said tasks (as with the notice sheet) is that the other churches in the parish have volunteers who undertake them. A second internet and email-ready PC will be available in the Parish Office if volunteers do not have facilities at home. Rev. Ian Webb. Parish Hall – Total Clear Out: Saturday 11th June from 9:30am Later this year the Parish Hall is going to be sold to The Gavin’s Foundation after which it will be managed and run by Life Dronfield who will eventually redevelop the whole site for use as it’s community space venue. In readiness for that we need to clear EVERYTHING out. So, on Saturday 11th June, starting at 9:30am, we are going to book a large walk-in skip and we will work together with Life Dronfield to clear everything out. If anyone thinks anything that they own is currently somewhere in the Parish Hall premises, then please arrange with the Parish Office to come and collect it asap, because on 11th June basically everything will be disposed of. We also need help on the day to remove everything and put it into the skip. Please can you let Alison know if you are able to come and help so we can build up a list of how many people can support this activity. Thanks Rob
There is to be a speaker from Christian Aid to tell us about their work and some of the needs they address throughout the World. Envelopes will of course be made available in church and if you are willing/able to post envelopes ‘on a road near you’, please have word and we can decide which road(s) you should cover. An alternative to the envelopes for making a donation is on-line or digitally via ‘Just Giving’ but please see an envelope for details as to how you can do this. Finally, one of our committee members (Angela Howard of St Philip’s) is hosting afternoon tea on Saturday 21 May (14:00 – 16:30) in her garden on the Holmesdale Estate side of town.
This is simply an online raffle (no different to a raffle or a tombola at a fete or a concert interval) with the opportunity to win, £50, £20, £10 or a meal-for-two at Toby Carvery Dronfield. Coffee after the Sunday services – 11:45am by Zoom We invite you to “virtual” after service refreshments, by clicking on the link in the notice sheet at 11:45am or afterwards.
