• The Parish Church of St John the Baptist Dronfield has stood at the centre of this community since the 12th Century. As the Town of Dronfield grew during the 1960's and 70's so churches were planted first in Holmesdale in the East and later in Gosforth Valley in the West. These three churches together with St Swithin Holmesfield and St Mary Unstone now make up the Team Parish of Dronfield with Holmesfield.

We are also an active part of the larger family of "Churches Together in Dronfield & District"

Our vision is to be "Open to God"

    • Open in worship and learning
    • Open to each other in communication and fellowship
    • Open in sharing the Good News by word and service
    • Open to the world in mission
We are currently exploring a scheme to sensitivly re-order the interior of our nave to provide disabled facilities, improved heating, lighting and sound so that the building becomes once more a vibrant and vital part of our Community - with a new hall alongside for community use and to display some of the rich heritage of this oldest building in Dronfield! - see the "Re-ordering" section.
